5 Tonne Driver / Warehouse Operative
Location: Enfield, North London
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and growing distribution business operating within the automotive sector. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a 5 Tonne Driver / Warehouse Operative to join their busy operation.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines warehouse duties with driving responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering excellent service while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe handling, storage, and delivery of vehicle glass, delivering to businesses and customers across the UK while ensuring all products arrive on time and in perfect condition.

Shift Pattern
2 Weeks Days
- Monday to Thursday: 10:00am - 7:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm
2 Weeks Nights
- Sunday to Thursday: 9:00pm - 6:00am
Saturday Working
- 1 in 4 Saturdays
- 6:00am - 2:30pm
- Paid at time and a half
- Flexibility offered where reasonably possible
The Role
As a 5 Tonne Driver / Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring products are safely handled, accurately picked and packed, and delivered efficiently to customers. You will split your time between warehouse operations and driving duties, supporting the business in maintaining exceptional service levels.

A key part of the role will involve delivering vehicle glass products to customers and businesses throughout the UK, ensuring all deliveries are completed safely, professionally, and in line with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver vehicle glass products to customers and trade businesses across the UK.
- Pick, pack, and load customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring all documentation and labelling are completed correctly.
- Support inventory management, stock control, and stock-taking activities.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with training and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Complete all relevant paperwork and system updates accurately.
- Drive company vehicles safely, professionally, and in accordance with UK road legislation.
- Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Ensure glass products are transported safely and securely to minimise the risk of damage.
- Deliver excellent customer service at all times, acting as a positive ambassador for the business.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Support colleagues and wider operational activities as required.
About You
Essential Requirements
- Valid 7.5 Tonne (C1) Driving Licence (essential).
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Experience handling heavy, fragile, or high-value goods.
- Previous experience within a warehouse, logistics, transport, or distribution environment.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow processes.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, flexible, and customer-focused.
- Strong timekeeping and attendance record.

Desirable
- Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
- NVQ Level 2 in Warehousing and Storage or similar qualification.
- Previous Forklift Truck experience.
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Good IT skills.
