We are currently recruiting for an experienced 7.5T Driver / White Goods Installer to join our team in Wednesbury.
This is a hands-on role involving the delivery, installation and removal of large domestic appliances, including washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, cookers and other white goods.
The successful candidate will need to be physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting, carrying and manoeuvring large appliances in customers' homes.
The Role
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Driving a 7.5T vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Loading and securing white goods and other appliances at the depot.
- Delivering appliances to customers' homes throughout the local area and surrounding regions.
- Carrying heavy and bulky appliances safely, often with a driver's mate or installation colleague.
- Removing customers' old appliances and transporting them back for disposal/recycling.
- Installing and positioning new white goods in customers' homes.
- Connecting appliances where required and where trained/qualified to do so.
- Checking that appliances are safely positioned and ready for use.
- Using appropriate equipment such as sack trucks, lifting aids and ramps.
- Protecting customers' property, floors and furniture while carrying out deliveries and installations.
- Providing a professional and friendly service to customers.
- Completing delivery paperwork and obtaining customer signatures.
- Reporting any damage, installation issues or delivery problems to the relevant team.
- Carrying out vehicle checks and ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and safe.
- Following all company health & safety procedures and manual-handling guidelines.

Typical day:
- Around 6:00am: Arrive at the depot and load the vehicle.
- Complete vehicle and load safety checks.
- Depart for the day's delivery/installation route.
- Deliver, remove and install appliances at customer addresses.
- Return to the depot as required.
- Usual induction time is around 10:00am, depending on the training schedule.
Please note that the role involves early starts and physically demanding work, so applicants must be comfortable working these hours.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A full 7.5T driving licence with the appropriate entitlement.
- Previous experience driving a 7.5T vehicle is preferred.
- Previous delivery, installation, removals or white-goods experience would be an advantage.
- Good geographical knowledge and the ability to use a sat-nav.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A professional and reliable attitude.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good timekeeping and attendance.
- The ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
- A good understanding of safe manual handling.

Physical Requirements
This is a physically demanding role. You will regularly be required to lift, carry and manoeuvre heavy and bulky appliances, sometimes up stairs or through restricted spaces.
Applicants must therefore be physically fit, strong and capable of safely handling heavy white goods throughout the working day.
You must be comfortable with repetitive lifting and manual handling and understand the importance of using correct lifting techniques and equipment.
DBS & Checks
Successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process.
You may also be required to provide:
- Driving licence checks.
- Right-to-work documentation.
- Employment/reference checks.
- Any relevant driver or compliance checks required by the company.
