Vita Tutoring is an education service founded in 2022 by Kavita, a qualified Maths teacher who provides personalized 1-to-1 tuition. The company initially focused on Maths and Physics support across West Yorkshire, including tailored assistance for learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and targeted exam preparation. Building on this foundation, Vita Tutoring is expanding into A Level Biology tuition, maintaining the same commitment to individualized instruction and academic progress. The tutoring approach emphasizes clear explanations, confidence-building, and measurable improvement in exam performance for learners.
Role Description
The A Level Biology Tutor will provide high-quality, curriculum-aligned online tuition to students preparing for A Level Biology examinations. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The tutor will offer clear explanations of complex biological concepts, support students with exam techniques, and adapt teaching strategies to different learning styles and needs, including SEND where appropriate. This is a remote, contract role, requiring reliable online presence, regular progress reporting to learners and families, and professional communication via digital platforms.
Qualifications
- Strong subject knowledge in Biology at A Level or higher, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly and accurately.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching, ideally at A Level, including planning lessons, assessing progress, and preparing learners for exams.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners, including those with SEND, and to use a patient, supportive teaching style.
- Proficiency with online teaching tools and platforms (e.g., video conferencing, digital whiteboards, shared documents) and reliable internet access.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including clear written and spoken English and a professional, respectful manner with learners and families.
- Organizational skills for scheduling sessions, maintaining records of student progress, and managing contract-based workload.
- Relevant academic background (e.g., degree in Biology or related field); teaching qualification or tutoring experience is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to safeguarding, ethical practice, and creating an inclusive learning environment for learners from all backgrounds.
