The A330/A340 Family Chief Engineer’s Team is looking for a placement student to join our highly experienced, friendly and autonomous team. The A330/A340 UK Chief Engineer’s team is responsible for leading future development projects as well as managing the continued airworthiness and safety of the Wing, Landing Gear, Fuel and Inerting systems for the flying A330/A340 fleet. In addition we support the aircraft final assembly lines across Europe, and the delivery teams as they hand over the aircraft to airlines around the world.

What you will be doing:
Success in this role will be largely down to you, but typically you will be:
- Part of the Chief Engineering team involved with product evolution of the A330/A340 Family by defining and proposing new aircraft technologies to improve our aircraft;
- Liaising and integrating across a number of teams, e.g. Overall Aircraft Design, Engineering, Airworthiness, Customer Services, Supply Chain and more;
- Supporting the continued airworthiness and safety of the fleet;
- Working to understand airline operational requirements and proposing improvements in our aircraft design accordingly;
- Helping to continuously improve our processes by highlighting inefficiencies in the established ways of working;
- Developing yourself, your confidence, your technical capability and knowledge, working with people in a diverse multi-national environment;
- Potential opportunity to travel to other Airbus sites (if available).
Requirements:
Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.
Your application should include a CV along with a Cover Letter outlining your motivation and suitability for the role.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Studying towards an Engineering degree (Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering);
- An ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met;
- Knowledge of project management principles is desirable;
- Proficient oral and written communication skills with the ability to summarise complex issues and communicate clearly in front of audiences;
- Keen to build relationships, self-reflecting and listening;
- Happy to act in a proactive manner to meet personal and team objectives.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
