Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Lead the entry of accounting transactions. Banking, supplier invoices, payments etc.
- Reconciling bank and supplier accounts. Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Supporting the month end process and working to deadlines.
- Being a steward to finance policies including finance process and system development.
- Customer and supplier registrations. Corporate credit card management.
Where you'll work
This apprenticeship is a hybrid role, with some expectations to attend in person meetings within our London Office.
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

What you'll learn
- Assist with the investigation and response to financial information queries.
- Record and analyse financial data using the organisation’s standard tools and processes.
- Apply double entry bookkeeping and accounting standards to process financial documents, generate financial statements and report financial information to users of accounts.
- Assist with production of accurate financial information for the preparation of accounts.
- Reconcile financial data, such as, preparation of reconciliations or review of reconciliations.
- Investigate, resolve or escalate transactional queries and errors within their remit as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information in a way that non-finance stakeholders can interpret and understand.
- Utilise digital skills to present key financial information using finance and accounting software and applications.
- Use software packages to assist with basic accounting tasks in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
- Communicate using varying approaches and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.

Training schedule
A key role within any accountancy and finance function, individuals undertaking this apprenticeship will hone their ability to create, verify and review accurate and timely financial information. This apprenticeship can suit a variety of financial functions as there are a range of qualifications available to suit your organisation.
Our Professional Accountant / Taxation Professional apprenticeship programme offers a choice of professional qualification with work-based projects. This ensures that learning and skills are directly applied to the apprentice’s role, and maximises the time used as part of off-the-job training.
The course is made up of three mandatory units and five optional units. You must pass all the mandatory assessments and two optional unit assessments to achieve the qualification.

- Drafting and Interpreting of Financial Statements (DAIF)
- Applied Management Accounting (AMAC)
- Internal Accounting Systems and Controls (INAC)
Optional:
- Business Tax (BNTA)
- Personal Tax (PNTA)
- Audit and Assurance (AUDT)
- Cash and Financial Management (CSFT)
- Credit and Debt Management (CRDM)
