The successful candidate must have hands-on experience of Workday Time & Absence. This is fundamental to the role, and applications cannot be considered without it.
Key responsibilities
- Processing and maintaining absence records and balances in Workday, including new hires, leavers and job changes, and ensuring absence is accurately recorded in terms of hours and reasons.
- Managing all incoming and outgoing communication, reviewing audit reports to safeguard data accuracy, and reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
- Providing advice to employees and managers on all aspects of absence, and ensuring compliance is maintained across all areas.

- Developing a comprehensive understanding of Workday and how its modules integrate, including HCM, Time, Absence and Payroll.
- Raising Workday tickets and carrying out full system testing, and running the weekly and monthly processes that ensure data readiness for Payroll.
- Processing and maintaining Time records in Workday, including adding and modifying shift patterns to reflect contracted hours, analysing exceptions, and taking ownership of escalation and resolution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
