The Opportunity
Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established M&E contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced AC & Ventilation Project Manager to manage projects across Yeovil and the surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in air conditioning and ventilation, taking responsibility for projects ranging in value from approximately £200,000 to £1 million.
You will oversee projects from initial planning and procurement through to installation, commissioning and handover, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
The Role
As AC & Ventilation Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical projects, coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing AC and ventilation projects ranging from £200,000 to £1 million in value.
- Taking responsibility for projects from pre-start through to completion and handover.
- Developing and managing project programmes.
- Coordinating labour, subcontractors, suppliers and materials.
- Managing the installation of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
- Monitoring project progress, costs and programme performance.
- Working closely with commercial teams to manage variations and project costs.
- Attending client, site and progress meetings.
- Managing subcontractor performance and ensuring works are delivered to specification.
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant health & safety requirements.
- Managing technical queries and resolving site issues.
- Coordinating commissioning and project handover.
- Maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensuring projects achieve the required standards of quality, safety and commercial performance.

About You
We are looking for an experienced mechanical Project Manager with a strong understanding of air conditioning and ventilation systems.
You Will Ideally Have
- Previous Project Management experience within the AC and ventilation sector.
- Experience successfully managing mechanical projects of a similar size and complexity.
- Strong technical understanding of air conditioning and ventilation installations.
- Experience managing projects from initial planning through to commissioning and handover.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of project programmes, budgets and commercial considerations.
- Experience managing subcontractors, site teams and suppliers.
- Good knowledge of health & safety requirements within construction and M&E environments.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- Excellent organisation, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Relevant mechanical, HVAC or construction qualifications would be advantageous.
