About The Role
These full-time posts are available from January 2027 on a permanent basis.
The starting salary will be from £43,482 on Grade F, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
The Role
We are seeking to appoint two individuals to the role of Lecturer in Law (Education and Research). These full-time posts are available from January 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a permanent basis within the Law School at the University of Exeter, based at our Streatham Campus. As a member of a prestigious Russell Group Law School, you will contribute to our thriving undergraduate programmes and develop an ambitious programme of internationally recognised research.
We are seeking applications from candidates with the ability and willingness to contribute to undergraduate teaching on a range of modules, including The Law of Torts, Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Company Law, Medical Ethics and Law, Family Law, Artificial Intelligence and the Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Criminal Evidence, Jurisprudence and Media law.
As researcher, you will also be expected to contribute to extending the research profile of the Law School, developing an ambitious programme of internationally recognised research. The successful candidate will be expected to produce high-quality publications, pursue opportunities for external research funding, and engage in collaborative partnerships that enhance both their own research profile and that of the School and University.
About You
For a Lecturer post you will have:
- A PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent in Law and have an independent, internationally-recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research;
- A demonstrable potential to produce high-quality publications;
- A demonstrable potential to attract research funding;
- An active approach to inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary research;
- A passion for delivering high-quality undergraduate teaching to large cohorts in at least one of the areas listed in this vacancy;
- A demonstrable potential to collaborate with business and community partners;
- A demonstrable potential to develop projects with impact.
