This is a unique opportunity to balance teaching with leadership. You'll spend approximately half of your time delivering teaching within our Vocational Law programmes and the other half leading and supporting a team of academics, currently comprising four lecturers and a small cohort of Visiting Lecturers.
As Academic Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Ensuring the successful delivery of our programmes
- Fostering an engaging and high-performing academic culture
- Supporting excellent student outcomes
- Building strong relationships with the local legal profession and wider community
- Working closely with colleagues across the University to maintain the high standards of legal education for which ULaw is renowned

As our Campus Manager, you will:
- Provide leadership and ensure the successful delivery of programmes to the highest academic and professional standards. Working closely with Faculty leadership and wider University teams, leading the delivery of all programmes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Deliver high-quality teaching to our PG students on the SQE and PGDL, and other courses as required
- Lead and develop a highly performing academic team through coaching, workload planning and people management
- Drive an outstanding student experience through excellent teaching delivery and campus engagement - working closely with the Faculty Leadership team and other departments within the University and our partnership with University of Reading.
- Support student recruitment initiatives alongside business development and marketing teams
- Build and maintain relationships with local schools, universities, businesses and legal communities
- Contribute to campus planning, resource management and operational performance
- Promote continuous improvement across teaching quality, student satisfaction and campus operations
- Support staff development, workload planning and people management activity
- Represent the campus internally and externally to enhance the University’s profile
Is this you?
- You’ll be a confident and credible leader who can inspire teams and build strong relationships both internally and externally.
- You’re proactive, commercially aware, and passionate about delivering high-quality education and student outcomes.
- A qualified solicitor, barrister
- Strong leadership and people management experience
- Proven ability to deliver results and meet targets
- Experience in education, legal, or commercial environments
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to drive growth
