Haberdashers' Abraham Darby, Academic Mentor

Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby is passionate about learning in its widest sense. Our mission is to ensure that our pupils value and enjoy their learning inside and outside the classroom.

The ADAPT and THRIVE provisions are two of our alternative pathways and a fundamental part of our pastoral support. The provisions support KS4 / KS3 learners, who have a variety of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and require a more bespoke environment to access a broad and balanced curriculum.

Aims of Post of Responsibility

The Academic Mentor will provide academic support, both within the classroom and as part of targeted intervention sessions, to pupils attending our ADAPT and THRIVE provision. All pupils in this provision have identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Some pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

If you think you have what it takes to make a real difference to the lives of the young people at Haberdashers’ Abraham Darby then we would love to hear from you!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
