Job Description
We are seeking a collaborative and confident Academic Quality Enhancement Officer to join our Academic Quality Enhancement Office on a part-time, fixed-term basis until 30 November 2027. This is an opportunity to help contribute to enhancement related projects aimed at maintaining academic standards, supporting effective quality assurance and contribute to a cycle of continuous academic enhancement across the University and its partners.
The Role
Working closely with Schools, professional services and partners, you will provide clear advice, guidance, monitoring and oversight across a broad range of academic quality enhancement activities. You will help colleagues apply the University’s academic regulatory and quality assurance frameworks consistently and effectively to support student outcome improvements.
Your Main Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting the curriculum development, validation and review cycle, academic assurance, external examining, audit and other quality-related activity;
- Providing authoritative advice and guidance on academic regulations, policies, procedures and the maintenance of academic standards;
- Contributing to the review and enhancement of academic quality practices, processes and guidance, informed by sector developments and external expectations;
- Coordinating quality-related management information, reports and committee activity within required timescales;
- Supporting collaborative provision and partnerships, including due diligence, approval, monitoring, review and annual reporting; and
- Sharing good practice, supporting staff development and, where required, overseeing the work of administrative colleagues.

About You
You will bring experience of working with academic enhancement environments, higher education regulations or quality processes in a complex organisation, together with the judgement and confidence to provide accurate and practical advice. You will be able to build constructive relationships with a wide range of colleagues and partners, manage competing priorities and communicate complex information clearly in writing and in person.
