Educator / Assessor Writer
Type: Contractor

About the Opportunity
micro1 is engaging experienced Educator / Assessor Writers to contribute their expertise to a customer project focused on developing and improving advanced AI systems. Selected contributors will apply their experience in educational assessment, academic writing, grading, and rubric-based evaluation to assess AI-generated written content. The work will help improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, communicate, and perform through high-quality, real-world evaluation data.
Prior AI experience is not required. Domain expertise in education, assessment, writing, and content evaluation is the primary qualification. The engagement is fully remote and offers flexibility for professionals working alongside other commitments.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and compare multiple AI-generated written responses for clarity, tone, helpfulness, and adherence to instructions.
- Assign analytical quality scores using provided rubrics and evaluation guidelines.
- Write detailed rationales explaining and supporting each assessment or score.
- Identify responses that are fluent but unsupported, or comprehensive but impractical for their intended audience.
- Detect factual errors, internal inconsistencies, unsupported claims, and issues affecting reliability or usability.
- Document evaluation findings accurately and maintain thorough records of decisions and observations.
- Apply assessment criteria consistently across different types of AI-generated content.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project managers and reviewers using digital content review platforms.
- Incorporate reviewer feedback and maintain consistent evaluation standards throughout the project.

Required Qualifications
- Strong written English proficiency with the ability to assess complex written content accurately.
- Completed degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
- Experience marking, grading, or examining written work against established criteria or rubrics.
- Strong attention to detail and critical-analysis skills.
- Ability to provide objective, well-articulated, and evidence-based judgments.
- Strong written communication and editing skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and consistently meet project deadlines.
- Familiarity with structured assessment, grading, or content-review processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in assessment design or instructional design.
- Background in peer review, thesis supervision, or academic writing support.
- Experience designing, applying, or reviewing educational rubrics.
- Experience evaluating academic, technical, or professional writing.
- Familiarity with digital content review platforms.
- Previous experience with AI model evaluation, RLHF, or data annotation.
- Experience providing detailed written feedback on complex content.
