Nottingham Forest Football Club is recruiting an Academy Head of Performance Analysis to lead, coordinate and drive the delivery of performance analysis support across all Academy age groups. Based at the Nigel Doughty Academy and reporting to the Assistant Academy Manager, the successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the Academy analysis department, track player development through objective and subjective performance data, and help embed the Academy's philosophy and methodology across the development pathway.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the support provision and requirements of the performance analysis function within the Academy.
  • Oversee the analysis related to philosophy and methodology, aiding the Academy vision.
  • Manage day-to-day Academy analysis operations, ensuring effective processes deliver actionable insights across all age groups.
  • Work in partnership with MDT teams to ensure high-level reporting is delivered to players, coaches, and key stakeholders across the Academy and loans.
  • Oversee individual analysis of Academy players using subjective and objective data to inform the Head of Academy and Academy Management Team.
  • Lead specific analysis projects related to the long-term development of the Nottingham Forest Academy analysis department.
  • Drive the club's analytical products and processes to deliver high-quality insights that support player development and performance outcomes.
  • Ensure an effective professional development programme is implemented for individual staff and the analysis team.
  • Recruit permanent staff when the need arises, in line with club protocols.
  • Manage and oversee the Academy internship programme, supporting the recruitment, development, and day-to-day guidance of interns within the department.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports in line with the Academy strategy, updating on progress against the performance analysis strategic pillar.
  • Build successful and professional relationships with players and staff while maintaining professional distance from playing staff at all times.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Excellent understanding of football tactics and talent identification in players.
  • Educated in Performance Analysis, Sports Science, and/or coaching, and holding a UEFA B Licence.
  • Full knowledge and experience of all duties involved in a role of this nature.
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organised, and punctual.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works effectively in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure, and comfortable with tight deadlines.
  • Drive to achieve deadlines, prioritise workload effectively, and continually improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with people of all ages and backgrounds, able to maintain confidentiality and act with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent IT skills, including MS Office, intranets, web, and Outlook.
  • Experience in health and safety duties appropriate to the post (desirable).
  • Prior experience managing kit and equipment within a sporting institution, preferably football (desirable).
