The Role

We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic and talented Academy Physiotherapist (Maternity Cover) to join our dynamic team.

In the role of Academy Physiotherapist you will

  • Work as an integral member of the Academy Medical and Multidisciplinary Team (MDT), providing high-quality medical provision across academy training sessions, fixtures and other club activities.
  • Provide pitch-side emergency first aid and medical cover for registered Academy players during training sessions and fixtures, both home and away, with responsibilities including evidence-based assessment, treatment and management of injuries within scope of practice, and appropriate referral to primary care or other healthcare professionals where necessary.
  • Support players through their rehabilitation journey, delivering and progressing individualised rehabilitation programmes developed in conjunction with the wider medical and performance team, adapting programmes appropriately in response to player presentation and progress.
  • Provide support within injury clinics, contributing to the assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and ongoing management of injured Academy players.
  • Develop positive and effective relationships with players, coaches, parents/guardians and members of the wider Academy MDT to support effective communication and an integrated approach to player care and development.
  • Contribute to the ongoing monitoring and management of player availability, communicating appropriately with coaches, medical and performance staff regarding new and existing injuries, rehabilitation progress and return-to-training/playing status.
  • Support the delivery of pre-game warm-ups and activation as appropriate, working collaboratively with coaching and performance staff to ensure players are appropriately prepared for training and competition.
  • When travelling on club transport, act as the medical lead for any incident requiring professional medical intervention and operate within the appropriate emergency procedures.
  • Ensure all medical records, clinical notes and relevant documentation are completed accurately and maintained on the FIP system within 24 hours, in accordance with governing body guidelines, Club policies and relevant data protection requirements.
  • Understand, maintain and disseminate the Academy Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to relevant staff and visiting teams, operating in accordance with the EAP when working at the Alan Higgs Centre and ensuring appropriate awareness of emergency procedures when working at away venues.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Academy Medical and Performance Support teams, contributing to an integrated approach to player health, wellbeing, availability and development.
  • Liaise appropriately with parents/guardians regarding player injuries, rehabilitation and ongoing management, ensuring communication is timely, professional and consistent with Academy processes and safeguarding requirements.
  • Maintain all mandatory qualifications, certifications, professional registrations and training required for the role in line with current EPPP guidelines, Club requirements and relevant professional governing body standards. This includes, as a minimum, ITMMiF, FA Safeguarding, Club Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Health and Safety training.
  • Engage proactively in personal and professional development, maintaining an appropriate CPD portfolio and contributing to the continued professional development programme within the Academy Medical Department.
  • Participate in the Academy's biannual appraisal process, setting appropriate objectives within an individual Personal Development Plan and responding positively to feedback from the Head of Academy Performance Support.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of Academy medical processes, standards and provision, identifying opportunities to improve the player and staff experience.
  • Promote and role-model the Academy Values and uphold the Staff, Player and Parent Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties or responsibilities as required by the Head of Academy Performance Support or Academy Manager.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
