You’ll be responsible for providing education and training, developing our people to gain qualifications and maintain excellent standards. We are also an Ofsted rated 'Good' provider of qualifications and apprenticeships.

We have two roles available:

  • Academy Skills Coach - Catering & Hospitality (30hrs per week)
  • Academy Skills Coach - Functional Skills Maths (22.5hrs per week)

Role Description

The Academy Skills Coach is a full-time hybrid role with flexibility to work from home. In this role, the coach supports learners by delivering training, coaching, and mentoring to enable learners to achieve and progress through the business.

The role includes supporting apprentices, assessing current practice and provision and supporting curriculum development, creating and delivering training sessions.

The Academy Skills Coach collaborates with managers and staff to identify development needs, track progress, and ensure consistency with company policies and standards. The role involves regular communication with internal stakeholders, preparing reports on achievement and outcomes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the academy.

Requirements

  • Formal training, teaching or equivalent qualification
  • Experience within the education sector
  • Teaching, coaching, training, and mentoring skills, including the ability to design and deliver practical, engaging learning sessions for diverse learners in line with qualification frameworks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with learners, managers, and colleagues.
  • Organisational and time-management abilities to plan lessons, review and update schemes of work, and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Comfort with hybrid working, including proficiency in digital tools (MS Office, Google, email, online training platforms, document sharing) to support remote collaboration.
  • Collaborating with The Academy team where required and willing to travel to school sites, if required.
  • Providing and monitoring the effective safeguarding, well-being and support arrangements for learners
