I am a Senior Lecturer in Dance at the University of Worcester seeking a part-time Access to Work Support Assistant to help me manage a varied workload across higher education, performance, research, creative projects and industry engagement.
This is an unusual role. I am not simply looking for an administrator. I am looking for someone who can provide trusted organisational, communication and practical support within a busy academic and creative environment. The successful candidate will help create structure, clarity and confidence across a range of professional activities, from university teaching and research to performances, events and external partnerships.
About the Role
The role combines practical administration with trusted professional support. You'll help me stay organised, keep projects on track, manage competing priorities and prepare for busy periods of work.
This may include:
- Managing task lists, deadlines and project timelines
- Supporting planning for performances, events and productions
- Assisting with diary management and scheduling
- Coordinating travel arrangements and logistics
- Helping prepare for meetings, presentations and events
- Monitoring project progress and following up actions
- Providing an additional perspective on workplace communications and professional interactions
- Helping identify priorities and practical solutions when workloads become complex
- Supporting confidence around travel, meetings and professional networking
- Helping interpret workplace communications, emails and social situations where appropriate

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
