Job Title: Accessibility and Community Executive

Reports to: Accessibility Senior Executive & Community Outreach Office

Location: Vantage, London

Department: Fan and Community Relations

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Job Overview

The successful candidate will support Brentford FC's accessibility and community objectives, helping ensure the Club remains inclusive, accessible, and connected to its diverse supporters and local communities.

They will support disabled supporters through accessible ticketing, matchday experiences, and engagement initiatives, while contributing to the ongoing improvement of accessibility across the Club.

The role will also support community engagement activities, building positive relationships with local communities and delivering fan engagement campaigns and events that introduce new audiences to Brentford FC, including matchday support at Wheatsheaf Park and Honeycroft, home to our under-21s, under-18s, and women's teams.

In addition, the successful candidate will act as a designated fan and community relations representative at selected matches and events, ensuring safeguarding standards are upheld and concerns are escalated appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

Accessibility

In terms of accessibility, the successful candidate will:

  • Act as a primary point of contact for disabled supporters, providing advice, support, and assistance with enquiries and ticketing processes.
  • Support the planning and delivery of accessible matchday experiences for disabled supporters, including home and away fixtures.
  • Assist in managing relationships with the Brentford Disabled Supporters Association and other accessibility stakeholders.
  • Support consultation and engagement initiatives with disabled supporters to gather insight and feedback.
  • Monitor and respond to accessibility enquiries, ensuring timely, professional, and high-quality responses.
  • Support the delivery of accessibility projects and improvements across Club facilities, digital platforms, and supporter services.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with the Accessible Stadia Guide, Equality Act 2010, and other relevant accessibility requirements and standards.

Community

In terms of community, the successful applicant will:

  • Support the delivery of our community outreach programme, including delivering events, school visits, stadium experiences, and engagement activities such as workshops and presentations for young people.
  • Build personal relationships with schools, grassroots clubs, and community groups to enhance the reputation of the club locally through regular communication and in-person visits.
  • Assist in developing initiatives that introduce new audiences to the Club and strengthen community relationships.
  • Support fan pathway opportunities, connecting community participants with matchday experiences at Wheatsheaf Park and Uxbridge FC, and support community ticketing initiatives.
  • Assist in delivering supporter and community engagement campaigns aligned to Club priorities, including women's football, academy activity, and inclusion initiatives.

In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Act as the Club's designated fan and community relations representative at matches held at Wheatsheaf Park and Uxbridge FC where required.
  • Support other projects across the Fan & Community Relations team as required.

Specialist Skills/Knowledge

  • Good understanding of accessibility principles and inclusive service delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within a sporting or community environment.
  • Knowledge of football supporter engagement and experience.
  • Experience working within professional football, sport, entertainment, or the community sector and with schools or school children.
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and Accessible Stadia Guide.
  • Experience supporting disabled supporters or customers.
  • Strong drive and enthusiasm for community development with a track record in developing relationships.
  • Holds a valid UK driving licence.
  • Good public speaking skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Brentford FC, its supporter base, and local community.

  • Ability to communicate confidently and professionally with a range of audiences.
