Job Title: Web Accessibility Specialist

Location: UK Based - Fully Remote

Salary/Rate: Up to £320 Daily

Start Date: October

Job Type: Initial 4 month contract - possible chance of extension - Inside IR35

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading publishing clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Web Accessibility Specialist to join their team for an initial four month contract.

About the Role

We are looking for a Web Accessibility Specialist to support our ADA-focused program of work for an initial four month contract. The focus of this role will be validating accessibility fixes made by product teams. You will review reported issues, retest products against WCAG requirements, use assistive technologies to assess real user journeys, and document whether fixes are effective. This role involves identifying relevant accessibility issues and specifying conformant solutions.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Experience working directly with WCAG audits, accessibility testing, or audit remediation.
  • Strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 and/or WCAG 2.2, including how success criteria apply to real products.
  • Familiarity with semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ARIA, forms and common interaction patterns.
  • Demonstrable experience validating accessibility fixes and explaining whether they work for users.
  • Confident use of NVDA for testing websites and web applications.
  • Strong understanding of how disabled people use the web, including barriers experienced by people using screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control and other assistive technologies.
  • Experience carrying out manual accessibility testing, supported by tools such as axe, WAVE, or browser accessibility inspectors.
  • Ability to document findings clearly and consistently so that product teams can act on them.
  • Ability to work independently, manage agreed testing tasks, and raise risks or blockers promptly.
  • Clear and constructive communication with designers, developers, testers, and product managers.
