ACCESSORIES DESIGNER
M.C Xccessories is looking for an experienced, fashion-forward Accessories Designer to join our small team based in Waterloo, London.
We are looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ experience within the accessories industry, with strong product, trend and commercial awareness. You will support the design team in delivering innovative, trend-led and commercially relevant accessories in collaboration with some of the UK’s leading retailers.
This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive, organised and commercially minded individual who enjoys developing product and working collaboratively across design, technical, production, factories and customers.
The successful candidate will also be open to learning and developing additional product categories as the business continues to grow.
Salary
£36,000–£38,000 per annum FT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute strategic seasonal product design and development across assigned accounts, ensuring product is innovative, trend-led and commercially relevant.
- Work closely with Account Managers and the Senior Designer to plan and participate in overseas shopping, factory and sourcing trips.
- Research, source and track relevant competitive shopping across assigned product areas to ensure strong market and trend awareness.
- Conduct regular market, trend and sourcing research and ensure flash trends and key insights are communicated promptly to the wider team.
- Maintain strong communication with factories and suppliers throughout the development process and manage development tracking to ensure key deadlines are met.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships, supporting increased customer confidence, product opportunities and sales growth.
- Work with new design software and emerging technology, including AI, to improve design processes and contribute to ROI and KPI tracking alongside the Senior Designer.
- Review and track CAD output, sampling progress, competitive shopping and product development conversion rates.
- Support showroom preparation, ensuring the space and product presentation reflect current trends, customer direction and brand identity.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong design and product development skills, with the ability to deliver innovative, trend-led and commercially relevant products.
- Strong understanding of seasonal trend research, materials, sourcing and market awareness.
- Confident and willing to travel internationally for shopping, factory and sourcing trips.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and track multiple developments, samples, CADs and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, factories and internal teams.
- Proficiency in relevant design software, with an openness to learning and using new tools and emerging technology, including AI.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams while taking ownership of assigned accounts and product areas.
- A proactive, commercially minded and solutions-focused approach, with excellent attention to detail.
