Accommodation Lead
The ideal applicant for this role will have previous experience in housekeeping or accommodation services, along with the ability to lead and support a team. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent organisational skills and a hands-on approach, while taking pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the home.
Duties Include:
- Leading and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the housekeeping and accommodation team.
- Ensuring a consistently high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation is maintained throughout the home for the comfort, enjoyment and safety of our residents.
- Organising and allocating daily housekeeping duties and ensuring tasks are completed to the required standard.
- Supporting, guiding and motivating housekeeping staff in their day-to-day duties.
- Carrying out regular checks of residents' rooms and communal areas to ensure standards are maintained.
- Ensuring residents' rooms and communal areas are cleaned and maintained appropriately.
- Monitoring stock levels of cleaning products, laundry supplies and other consumables and ensuring adequate supplies are available.
- Assisting with ordering and stock control as required.
- Supporting effective waste management and ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
- Ensuring cleaning equipment is used safely and maintained appropriately.
- Ensuring safe working practices, infection prevention & control procedures and relevant policies are adhered to.
- Reporting maintenance issues, hazards or areas requiring attention to the appropriate person.
- Working closely with nursing, care and management teams to ensure the accommodation needs of residents are met.
- Supporting the induction and training of new housekeeping staff.
- Promoting a positive, respectful and supportive team culture.
- Leading by example and demonstrating our CARA Values in all aspects of the role.

- Previous experience working in a housekeeping, accommodation or similar role.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lead, support and motivate a team.
- Ability to work independently, use initiative and prioritise tasks effectively.
- A professional, caring and respectful nature.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of hygiene and infection prevention and control practices.
- Garda clearance and suitable character references.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
- Commitment to providing a safe, clean and comfortable environment for our residents.
