The Role

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on Accommodation Maintenance Operative to take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of our seasonal worker accommodation.

We have two on-site accommodation areas consisting of 44 static caravans, providing accommodation for our seasonal workforce on SAW visas.

The main focus of the role is to ensure the caravans and surrounding areas are kept safe, functional and well maintained. This is a varied and flexible position suited to someone with good practical skills who is happy to turn their hand to a range of general maintenance and handyman tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to maintenance issues within the accommodation.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance within the caravans.
  • Complete basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and other general handyman tasks where appropriate.
  • Regularly check caravans and surrounding areas to identify repairs or maintenance required.
  • Carry out monthly accommodation, compliance and standards checks.
  • Prepare and check caravans before new seasonal workers arrive.
  • Inspect accommodation following worker departures and complete or arrange any necessary repairs.
  • Monitor gas supplies and arrange replenishment when required.
  • Ensure accommodation and surrounding areas are kept safe, tidy and in good working order.
  • Identify larger or specialist repairs and arrange for the appropriate contractor where required.
  • Assist contractors carrying out work within the accommodation areas.
  • Maintain basic records of inspections, repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with other general site maintenance tasks when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with health and safety requirements.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for someone with good practical skills and a common-sense approach to maintenance.

Previous experience in property maintenance, caravan maintenance, facilities, handyman work or a similar practical role would be beneficial, but is not essential.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Be practical and confident carrying out general repairs and maintenance.
  • Have good DIY and problem-solving skills.
  • Be reliable and able to work independently.
  • Be friendly and approachable when dealing with seasonal workers.
  • Be organised and able to prioritise maintenance issues.
  • Recognise when a repair requires a specialist contractor.
  • Be flexible and willing to help with a variety of tasks.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
