Job Description

Fixed term contract or Secondment opportunity until 31/03/2028

Ref: H7528

The opportunity has arisen for this vacancy within the Accommodation Resourcing Service.

This role leads the Accommodation Resourcing Service, providing strategic and operational leadership to ensure high-quality, person-centred housing support for households in temporary accommodation. The postholder oversees staff management, service performance, and compliance with all statutory duties relating to homelessness, temporary accommodation, and safeguarding. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, they ensure that placements are suitable, legally compliant, and effectively managed, while driving initiatives that prevent homelessness, support households with complex needs, and reduce reliance on temporary accommodation.

The role also contributes to policy development, service improvement projects, and corporate priorities, representing the service at senior forums and supporting the delivery of key housing strategies. A high level of knowledge and understanding across part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and other associated legislation will be necessary.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
