Job Description

Main duties and responsibilities

The Estates & Facilities Directorate is large and diverse, employing circa 300 people, ranging from plumbers, engineers, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants, to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.

Engage with students as they embark on their university journey by joining our accommodation team in supporting our students living in halls. We are seeking an Accommodation Services Assistant to assist with the coordination and provision of our accommodation service, covering initial enquiries to welcoming students into the halls of residence and providing guidance and assistance during their time in residence.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is customer and solution focussed. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills with experience of working in an accommodation/hospitality setting, preferably within the higher education sector. You’re a team player with a positive attitude, a commitment to delivering exceptional service, have experience of dealing with sensitive customer welfare issues and are able to resolve conflict constructively. You will need to use accommodation systems to support the administration of applications, bookings, room allocations, occupancy records, enquiries and student records, ensuring accurate data entry and consistent use of agreed processes.
