Criterion Hospitality is seeking an experienced Accommodation Services Auditor to provide independent assurance across our London hotel portfolio.
You will audit outsourced and internally delivered accommodation services, including housekeeping, linen and laundry, public-area cleaning, guest supplies, amenities, specialist cleaning and other guest-facing services.
Using a risk-based approach, you will verify service delivery, review supporting evidence, identify control weaknesses and financial leakage, and ensure corrective actions are completed. This is an independent audit role and does not involve managing operational teams or suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a risk-based audit programme across the hotel portfolio.
- Review contracts, service-level agreements, specifications, operating records and local sign-off controls.
- Conduct planned and unannounced site audits, sample checks and document reviews.
- Verify service logs, worksheets, staffing records, exception reports and completion records.
- Identify service failures, unsupported activity, control gaps and recurring non-compliance.
- Reconcile supplier invoices against contracts, approved rates, service records and evidence of delivery.
- Identify overbilling, duplicate charges, unsupported extras, incorrect rates, missed credits and other discrepancies.
- Prepare clear variance and audit reports showing findings, evidence, risk, financial impact, ownership and required action.
- Test compliance with company standards, contractual obligations, hygiene controls, health and safety requirements and operating procedures.
- Audit areas including room servicing, linen and laundry, public areas, guest amenities and specialist cleaning.
- Evaluate supplier performance and identify trends affecting guest experience, cost or operational risk.
- Maintain complete audit trails, findings logs and action trackers.
- Escalate significant, repeated or unresolved issues to the Head of Operations and relevant stakeholders.
- Confirm that corrective actions, credits and recoveries have been completed before closing findings.
- Recommend improvements to contracts, procedures, reporting, sign-off controls and supplier governance.
- Communicate findings professionally to hotel management, Finance, Procurement and service providers while maintaining independence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
