BAM Site Solutions are looking for an Accommodation & Welfare Installation Operative
To support all aspects of installation and removal of our portable accommodation, general refurbishment, fit out and maintenance of Portable Accommodation units on site or in a workshop environment to current standards and regulations.
This is a Full time position working Monday to Friday. Based in Wellingborough. Regular Travel throughout the UK will be required. When needed you will be provided with a company van.
Making Possible
As an Accommodation & Welfare Installation Operative, you will support the full lifecycle of our portable accommodation units from refurbishment and fit‑out to installation, dismantling, and ongoing maintenance. You’ll work both on site and within our Wellingborough depot, ensuring all work meets current standards, regulations, and BAM’s commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Placing the health and safety of colleagues, clients, and yourself at the forefront of every task.
- Ensuring full health, safety, and environmental compliance at all times.
- Refurbishing modular and cabin buildings within the Wellingborough depot to a high standard.
- Supporting on‑site installation, dismantling, and maintenance of modular and cabin units across the UK.
- Building strong working relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Responding to maintenance and breakdown call‑outs when required.
- Completing accurate documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and daily activity report.

Your team

What do you bring to the role?
- Experience in refurbishment, fit‑out, or maintenance of modular or portable accommodation units (workshop or site‑based).
- Basic skills in plumbing, joinery, decorating, and general maintenance.
- A clean driving licence is essential.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Practical experience in general repair, multi‑trade, handyman, manufacturing operative, or fitter roles, including confident use of power tools.
- A positive, professional attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively within a multi‑disciplinary team.
- Flexibility around working hours and travel requirements.

Advantageous Qualifications
- Valid Slinger/Signaller certification (CPCS or equivalent).
- Crane Supervisor qualification (CPCS or equivalent).
- Experience within the modular accommodation or cabin supply industry.
