About The Role

The Accommodation Porter position, based in Edinburgh, supports a student housing provider during the busy Freshers’ Week period. Working a 9-5 shift pattern, including weekends, this temporary role pays £14 per hour. You will assist new residents with their arrival, carrying luggage to rooms, issuing keys and access cards, and offering directions around the building. Check-In Runner – Student Accommodation

📍 Location: Edinburgh

💰 Pay: £14.00 per hour

📅 Shift times: 9-5pm (weekend work)

Pertemps are recruiting Check-In Runners to support a student accommodation provider during the busy Freshers’ Week period.

The Role

You will be helping new students move into their accommodation and making sure they have a smooth and welcoming arrival.

Duties will include:

  • Helping students carry suitcases and luggage to their rooms
  • Assisting with the check-in process
  • Providing keys/access cards and basic information
  • Directing students around the accommodation
  • Answering straightforward queries and providing assistance
  • Supporting the accommodation team during busy arrival periods
  • Carrying luggage up stairs where required
