Accounts Assistant – Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA)

About the Role
CSInsurance Brokers Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) team. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day IBA function of a specialist Lloyd's insurance brokerage, working closely with the IBA Manager to ensure accurate financial processing, reconciliations, insurer settlements, and compliance with client money requirements. This is a hands-on role requiring a solid understanding of insurance broking accounting processes and a good working knowledge of Global XB.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile insurance premiums, brokerage commissions, and insurer payments.
- Maintain accurate accounting records within Global XB, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and allocated.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly Client Money Calculations (CMC), including supporting reconciliations and investigations.
- Prepare and process payments to insurers and underwriters, including bureau and non-bureau settlements.
- Monitor and manage aged debt, following up on outstanding premiums and resolving payment queries.
- Undertake regular bank and insurer account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Assist with the management and reconciliation of multi-currency accounts, including overseas business.
- Liaise with brokers, underwriters, and internal teams to resolve accounting queries.
- Support financial reporting, regulatory requirements, and the maintenance of accurate audit records.
- Assist the IBA Manager with ad hoc projects, process improvements, and other accounting responsibilities as required.

Skills and Experience Required
Essential:
- Previous experience working in an Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) function, ideally within a Lloyd's or London Market brokerage.
- Solid understanding of insurance premium accounting, insurer settlements, reconciliations, and brokerage processing.
- Familiarity with client money handling and the importance of FCA CASS compliance.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to agreed deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both finance and broking teams.

- Experience assisting with Client Money Calculations (CMC).
- Knowledge of Lloyd's bureau accounting and settlement processes.
- Experience managing multi-currency transactions and overseas insurance accounts.
- Familiarity with Xero or Global XB
