Accounts Assistant Location: London Working pattern: Part-time, three days per week
The opportunity We are working with a growing boutique property development company specialising in high-end residential and mixed-use projects across London and the Home Counties.
Following a period of significant growth, the business is looking for a capable and dedicated Accounts Assistant to support its day-to-day finance activities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work and would like to develop with an ambitious, design-led property business.
The position will initially be part-time, working three days per week, with the potential to become a full-time role as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the accounts inbox and responding to queries accurately and promptly
- Processing supplier invoices, payments, income and receipts
- Entering financial information into the company’s construction management software
- Completing account and bank reconciliations using Xero
- Processing employee expenses and ensuring the appropriate documentation and approvals are in place
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised financial records
- Supporting the external accountant with general administration and the preparation of annual accounts
- Assisting with other finance and administrative duties as required

About you
You will be organised, dependable and comfortable working accurately with financial information.
You should be willing to take responsibility for your work while remaining keen to learn and develop.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper or in a similar finance position
- A basic understanding of bookkeeping principles and processes
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- The ability to learn new systems and software quickly
- Experience using Xero

Familiarity with VAT and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) would be advantageous, although training can be provided where required.
