🕗 Hours: Monday–Friday | 8:00am–4:00pm
💷 Salary: Competitive – Dependent on Experience
About the Role
T. J. Cottis Transport is looking to recruit an organised and reliable Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team.
This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the day-to-day financial administration of a well-established and growing transport business.
Working alongside our finance team and management, you will help ensure our accounts are accurate, up to date and running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase ledger – processing and matching supplier invoices
- Sales ledger and customer invoicing
- Credit control and chasing outstanding payments
- Bank reconciliations
- Processing supplier payments
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with VAT and CIS administration
- Processing expenses and company credit cards
- Assisting with payroll administration
- Dealing with supplier and customer account queries
- General accounts and finance administration
- Supporting the Company Accountant and Directors as required

About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in an accounts, bookkeeping or finance administration role
- Confident working with purchase and sales ledgers
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Professional and confident when dealing with customers and suppliers

Experience using Sage or Xero would be advantageous.
Experience within haulage, transport, construction, waste management, aggregates or plant hire would also be beneficial, but is not essential.
