As Accounts Assistant, you will support the financial and administrative operations of ME London, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong internal controls. Working closely with the Business Partner, you will implement local finance tasks, support accounting period closures, and contribute to the smooth financial management of the hotel.
Key Responsibilities – Operational Excellence
- Support the Business Partner with month-end and accounting period closures
- Implement delegated administrative and accounting tasks within the hotel
- Ensure compliance with hotel management rules, processes, and financial procedures
- Assist with internal and external audits, preparing documentation as required
- Perform daily cash control procedures, including cash counts and payment gateway checks
- Implement face-to-face internal controls within the hotel, including no-show invoicing reviews, loyalty programme checks, and system access controls
- Carry out hotel cost control activities such as inventory spot checks, food cost breakdowns, consumption analysis, and third-party contract controls
- Support payment processing and transactional accounting activities where not centralised
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, efficiency, and accuracy
What we’re looking for
- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (open to recent graduates in Accountancy or Finance)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar finance or accounting role or relevant graduate-level placement / internship experience
- Knowledge of hotel operations and hospitality business requirements (or strong interest in developing this knowledge)
- Understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Experience using PMS, SAP, and MS Office (training can be provided where required)
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Confident communicator and collaborative team player
