ABOUT THE ROLE

The role sits within the Blue & Purple Stream Team – a planning team of 7 people responsible for working on business across Initiative & MediaHub, including clients such as Deliveroo, NatWest, Nike, Pinterest, Oura and Volvo, to name a few.

As part of the Blue & Purple Team the key relationships will be not only with Initiative, but also working directly with clients and creative agencies. Key Internal relationships are with the Business Director, Account Manager, Account Executive and the wider Rapport teams such as Insight and IMPACT.

Working in a team of 4, the Account Directors main role is to run the planning and implementation of OOH campaigns from initial brief through to post campaign analysis. This person will need to provide leadership to junior members of the team and ensure high quality service is always provided to clients. We are looking for an individual who is driven for career development, has a clear understanding of how to grow clients spend and is confident with building senior relationships.

You will have shared responsibility for meeting the yearly business and revenue targets for Rapport and will receive guidance on how to achieve this.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take responsibility for client work e.g. attending agency/client briefings, taking ownership of briefs, managing client demands & expectations etc.
  • Deliver high quality planning output and client servicing. Create and execute ideas for effective, award-level work and inspire agency planners / clients to be brave and ambitious on what they can achieve through OOH.
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ businesses to enable strategic OOH recommendations that will deliver on (long and short term) objectives in an integrated manner across the wider comms plan.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure the full range of Rapport services are being utilised to create a distinct advantage for our clients – i.e. with wider team members across Insight & Research, Impact and Trading.
  • Support Blue & Purple Streams Team growth ambitions across all clients, including new business pitches and organic growth
  • Support the Business Director to maintain the excellent team spirit, collaboration and efficient running of the team. Offer help proactively to contribute towards team goals and look for opportunities to take ownership of some team responsibilities and develop your own leadership skills for the future.
  • Manage the Account Manager within the team to develop their industry knowledge, planning skills, client experience and confidence, guiding and supporting on workflow management as required. Provide a structured development plan including regular growth and feedback opportunities.
  • Share skills and knowledge across the planning team and offer mentoring or training to junior planners where applicable.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong planning credentials with deep industry knowledge.
  • Ability to anticipate client needs and manage senior client relationships and expectations effectively.
  • Spot opportunities and follow through to create tangible outputs that benefit Rapport and our clients.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills (both internally and externally) with a positive and professional can-do attitude.
  • An understanding of the industry with a focus on company commercials and a view on how to deliver revenue targets.
  • Motivating team player, happy to take the lead as required and leads by example.
  • Able to provide guidance and assistance within the team. Can effectively delegate.
