Account Director 1
Reporting to the Group Account Director
We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager or Account Director with a strong track record in medical communications who is ready to take the next step in their career or further develop their leadership capabilities. This opportunity is equally suited to established managers looking to join an agency where they can play an active role in shaping client partnerships, influencing strategic direction, and driving account growth.
As part of our account leadership structure, we operate two Account Director levels, AD1 and AD2. For this position, we are specifically seeking candidates operating at Account Director 1 level. The role reports directly to the Group Account Director.
While experience within Cardiometabolic Health or Cardiovascular therapy areas would be advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates with expertise across other therapeutic areas.
At Scientific Group, our team members enjoy a high degree of autonomy and ownership in their work. In this role, you will build strong relationships across account management, scientific, creative and digital teams, while developing trusted partnerships with clients and key opinion leaders. You will use your expertise to oversee complex projects, provide strategic guidance, and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional value and outcomes for clients.
You will be responsible for the strategic management and growth of client accounts, including both global and affiliate market programmes. Success in this role requires consistently delivering high-quality work that exceeds client expectations while meeting commercial and financial objectives. You will also contribute to business development activities by identifying and securing new opportunities, enhancing Scientific Group’s profile, and supporting sustainable revenue growth.
Experience leading product or brand launches and partnering closely with both Commercial and Medical Affairs teams will be highly valued. The role also includes line management responsibilities, with a focus on developing, coaching and empowering team members to achieve their full potential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
