Account Director – Media & Campaigns | New Advisory Firm, Central London

The opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a new advisory firm that provides communications, policy and research advice to businesses facing complex challenges. Its integrated approach gives clients joined-up counsel across reputation, politics and public affairs.

The firm is hiring an Associate to join its Media and Campaigns team. This is a media-first role for someone ready to take day-to-day ownership of client accounts and help build a growing team. You'll develop narratives and messaging, secure coverage, and advise clients on how to make the most of media opportunities and handle challenges, often where media and politics overlap.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing day-to-day client relationships and becoming a trusted, reliable point of contact for clients.
  • Coordinating delivery across a range of accounts, making sure work lands on time and to a high standard.
  • Developing media strategies, narratives and messaging, and using your media relationships to deliver results.
  • Offering proactive advice to clients, drawing on your understanding of the media and political landscape.
  • Working alongside policy and research colleagues to turn insight and data into compelling media stories.
  • Reviewing and quality-controlling the work of junior colleagues and giving constructive feedback.
  • Line managing and developing junior team members.
  • Supporting new business by contributing ideas and insight to proposals and pitch materials.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About you

Your background is primarily in media relations. Experience across other comms disciplines (public affairs, corporate, digital, campaigns) is a real plus, but media must be your core expertise and the main focus of your career to date. You have a strong interest in politics. You follow Westminster and the wider political agenda closely and understand how it shapes the media and business environment. You have an established network of journalist contacts. You've led or managed others, and you're well organised, able to juggle several accounts and priorities at once. Your writing is sharp and your attention to detail is strong. You enjoy working collaboratively and want to play a part in building the culture of a growing business.
