Networking Sales Specialist

The Networking Sales Specialist is responsible for driving profitable growth within a specified vertical or geography within the Networking technology pillar. The Networking pillar encompasses services and solutions across the likes of Network Connectivity, Network Security, and Network Intelligence that drive outcomes and experiences from the network.

Working independently or in partnership with Account Managers, technical specialists, and strategic vendors, the Solution Sales Specialist leads complex sales engagements, develops long-term customer relationships, and creates new opportunities through account penetration and hunting, strategic campaigns, and consultative selling.

The role carries responsibility for revenue growth, margin generation against an agreed target, pipeline creation, and the successful execution of strategic sales initiatives.

Job Role Responsibilities

Core

  • Identify, target, and hunt Networking opportunities within new and existing customers (whitespace) and develop strategies to increase wallet share.
  • Own and lead complex sales opportunities from qualification to transition into delivery.
  • Coordinate all internal and external stakeholders throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional virtual teams including Account Managers, Pre-Sales, Service Delivery, and Vendor resources to achieve successful customer outcomes for specific opportunities.
  • Develop joint go-to-market strategies with Account Managers and/or vendors to generate pipeline growth and accelerate customer acquisition.

General

  • Maintain accountability for assigned revenue, gross profit, pipeline, and strategic growth objectives across designated customers, vendors, and sales campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM hygiene in accordance with business reporting requirements.
  • Identify, create, and close new sales opportunities within a designated sales vertical or geography.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans for key customers alongside Account Managers, identifying growth opportunities, competitive threats, stakeholder mapping, and investment priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with Account Management, Pre-Sales, and Post Sales in defining propositions for specific customer needs/requirements.
  • Build and maintain multi-level relationships across customer organizations, including operational, technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders, to improve strategic alignment and long-term growth.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and specialist sales support to Account Managers to improve solution positioning and sales effectiveness.

Experience

  • 5+ years Enterprise sales experience.
  • Driven, enthusiastic, and uses initiative.
  • Experience leading complex multi-stakeholder sales engagements.
  • Experience building and executing vendor-led growth plans.
  • Experience selling recurring managed services and as-a-service solutions.
  • Proven experience in winning complex infrastructure and services sales.
  • Ability to engage up to, and including C-level executives.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Extensive and proven sales experience and track record gained within their specialist area.
