Social Media Account Director | 12-Month Maternity Cover

Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum
Location: London
Hybrid working
12-month fixed-term maternity cover
Start date: ASAP

Are you an experienced agency-side Account Director with a strong background in social media? Do you combine excellent client management and commercial awareness with a genuine understanding of social, content, and creative campaigns?

We are working with a growing social agency that is looking for a Social Media Account Director to join its team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

You will take ownership of three key client accounts, act as the senior day-to-day client lead, and manage two direct reports. This is a varied role combining senior client management, team leadership, commercial development, and hands-on social and creative thinking.

The Role

You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships across three client accounts, ensuring the agency delivers high-quality work while identifying opportunities to develop and grow those relationships.

Social is a key part of the role. You will oversee organic content production and ideation, contribute creative ideas, and ensure the work remains relevant, engaging, and aligned with the latest social trends.

You will also work closely with strategy, paid, and production teams, while managing and developing two members of the team.

This would suit someone who is commercially minded and confident with clients, but who is still genuinely passionate about social and wants to be involved in the creative thinking rather than simply managing the account.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
