About the Job

Working within Partnerships Bulletin & Planning Resource

Partnerships Bulletin and Planning Resource are market-leading media and intelligence brands within Haymarket’s Built Environment and Energy & Environment portfolio. Partnerships Bulletin is the definitive global source of intelligence, news, and events for public-private partnerships (PPP) and infrastructure investment. Planning Resource is the UK’s premier source of news, analysis, and career opportunities for urban planning and development professionals.

Together, these brands deliver sector-leading multi-channel commercial options, connecting major clients, consultants, developers, and public sector stakeholders with highly targeted decision-makers and C-suite leaders across planning, infrastructure, and public-private partnerships nationwide and globally.

The Role

The Account Director is a highly strategic, buyer-led commercial professional responsible for driving significant revenue growth across Partnerships Bulletin, Planning Resource, and the wider Built Environment portfolio. In this role, you will lead on building high-value, multi-stakeholder commercial partnerships and closing complex deals up to C-suite level.

Adopting a consultative approach, you will proactively engage with clients to understand their overarching business challenges and craft tailored multi-channel solutions across digital advertising, demand generation, content partnerships, and event sponsorships. You will efficiently manage all stages of the sales pipeline in Salesforce, deliver accurate revenue forecasting, and collaborate closely with cross-functional internal teams to exceed commercial targets.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver against individual and team revenue targets, identifying opportunities to drive sustainable revenue growth across Partnerships Bulletin, Planning Resource and the wider Built Environment portfolio.
  • Proactively identify, develop and convert new business opportunities, managing the full sales lifecycle from prospecting and initial engagement through to proposal development, negotiation and conversion.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing clients and senior decision-makers, including at C-suite level, identifying opportunities for retention, renewal, cross-selling and account growth.
  • Understand clients’ commercial objectives and challenges and translate these into relevant, tailored solutions across digital advertising, demand generation, content partnerships, sponsorship and events.
  • Maintain an accurate and well-managed sales pipeline within Salesforce, ensuring client activity, opportunity stages and next steps are kept up to date and providing timely and accurate revenue forecasts.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of client sectors, competitor activity, market developments and Haymarket’s wider commercial proposition, using this insight to inform client conversations and identify new commercial opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with Editorial, Marketing, Events and wider Commercial colleagues to develop effective commercial propositions and support the successful delivery of client campaigns and partnerships.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer experience throughout the client journey, ensuring communication is clear and responsive and that commercial commitments are effectively managed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
