Account Director

A specialist technology organisation delivering secure digital solutions for Defence and National Security environments is looking for an experienced Account Director to help shape growth, strengthen key relationships, and support delivery of mission-critical programmes.

This is a senior role for someone who enjoys working with complex challenges, influencing stakeholders, and turning strategic opportunities into real outcomes.

Role Overview:

  • Location: Farnborough (Hybrid)

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the Ministry of Defence and wider Defence ecosystem.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth by understanding customer needs, market trends, and future technology requirements.
  • Shape and deliver account strategies that support sustainable commercial growth.
  • Work closely with business development and commercial teams to develop go-to-market plans and pursue new opportunities.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and ensure customer relationships remain strong and effective.
  • Support innovation initiatives, capability development, and the creation of new revenue streams.
  • Champion continuous improvement across services, delivery, and customer experience.
  • Help create a high-performing, collaborative culture across your account team.
  • Share business updates, successes, and key developments to keep teams engaged and aligned.
  • Represent the company’s vision and values with customers, partners, and internal teams.

Main Skills Needed:

  • Proven experience managing strategic accounts within Defence, Government, National Security, or a related technology environment.
  • Strong network and understanding of MOD stakeholders, requirements, and procurement landscape.
  • Experience developing account strategies and identifying commercial opportunities.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build trusted long-term relationships.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of supporting business growth.
  • Experience working across technology, digital transformation, or complex delivery environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to solve problems and drive continuous improvement.
