The Role
JPA Health is looking for an experienced Account Director to join our growing London team, working across established international healthcare accounts.
This is an opportunity for a strong healthcare communications professional who enjoys being close to both clients and the work. You’ll lead varied programmes spanning patient advocacy, corporate communications, scientific content, events, and insight-led initiatives, working alongside experienced and well-established account teams.
We’re looking for someone who can quickly become a trusted partner to clients, bring fresh thinking and energy to the team, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get involved. You’ll have strong senior support around you while having plenty of opportunity to take ownership, drive the work forward, and make your mark.
This position is full-time and hybrid in London, with occasional travel for client meetings, events, and international team meetings as needed.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of international healthcare communications programmes, building strong client relationships and providing confident strategic counsel.
- Take ownership of account planning, priorities, budgets, and delivery, anticipating client needs and ensuring consistently high-quality work.
- Develop and review compelling written content across a range of audiences and channels, partnering with medical and content specialists on more scientifically complex work.
- Lead and support account teams, creating clarity and momentum while remaining hands-on across programme delivery.
- Ensure strong financial management and stewardship against programme scopes – from forecasting to budget reconciliations and cost management.
- Lead the resourcing for your accounts, anticipating peaks in activity and planning ahead to ensure excellence in programme delivery.
- Balance strong project management and people skills alongside content development – demonstrating close attention to detail.
- Bring fresh thinking and ideas to client programmes, drawing on your experience and knowledge of the wider healthcare communications landscape.
- Drive organic growth across your accounts and seek opportunities to strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to new business and wider agency initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
