Account Director
Location: London
Salary: Competitive, car allowance, private healthcare & flexible benefits
We're one of the UK's leading independent engineering and facilities services businesses, and we're looking for an Account Director to take full ownership of one of our most high-profile M&E services contracts. This isn't a typical FM contract. It's a flagship account where the standards, the visibility, and the expectations are all set unusually high. If you're the kind of leader who's drawn to a challenge precisely because the details are being kept close — this is worth a conversation.
The Role
You'll hold full accountability for service delivery, financial performance, and the client relationship on this contract. Leading resident and mobile teams, you'll drive operational excellence, ensure contractual compliance, and build the kind of customer partnership that opens doors to further opportunity.
This is a highly visible leadership role within our business. You'll shape the account's strategic direction, bring technical innovation to the table, and deliver a service that matches the calibre of the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of financial performance — gross profit, WIP, and aged debt
- Ensure contract KPIs/SLAs are consistently achieved, with regular performance reviews
- Design and deliver a bespoke customer relationship programme that drives satisfaction and new opportunities
- Lead, coach, and develop your team, with a clear eye on succession planning
- Manage staffing levels and resourcing to match operational demand
- Oversee project works, drawing on wider business capability where needed
- Uphold rigorous health, safety, and compliance standards
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the account

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
