About The Job
Working within Horticulture Week
Horticulture Week is a leading source of news, insight and information for professionals across the horticultural industry. The brand provides its audience with timely industry news, analysis, data and practical information across digital platforms, helping professionals stay informed about developments, trends and opportunities within the sector.
As a flagship title within Haymarket’s specialist portfolio, Horticulture Week delivers sector-leading content across digital and paid content subscriptions, offering total revenue solutions for industry decision-makers, suppliers, and service providers nationwide.
The Role
As Account Director, you will take ownership of driving revenue growth across Horticulture Week’s commercial portfolio, spanning digital advertising, bespoke content solutions and paid content subscriptions.
You will manage and grow key client relationships while proactively developing new business opportunities across the horticulture, landscape and arboriculture sectors. Taking a consultative, buyer-led approach, you will build relationships with senior decision-makers, understand their commercial objectives and develop tailored solutions that deliver value for both our clients and Horticulture Week.
You will manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and pitching through to negotiation, conversion, onboarding, renewal and account growth. Working collaboratively across editorial, marketing, subscriptions and product teams, you will also play an important role in ensuring our commercial proposition continues to respond to client needs and market developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
