Account Director

Competitive

Leicester | Hybrid

Pitch is delighted to be partnering with CWA, one of Leicester’s longest-standing and most established full-service marketing agencies, to find a talented Account Director to join their growing team.

CWA has been creating brilliant work for more than 60 years, but this definitely isn't an agency stuck in its ways. They're ambitious, evolving and continuing to invest in the expertise they offer their clients. CWA recently acquired the RedKnows brand known for its EVP expertise. The move brings clear synergy between the two brands and opens new opportunities and growth.

Now they're looking for an Account Director who shares that mindset – and who can bring something particularly important to the team: strong digital knowledge.

So, where do you come in?

You'll join a talented client services team, working alongside specialists across creative, PR, content, social, video, events, web and digital. You'll take ownership of a predominantly B2B portfolio, working with some impressive brands across transport, automotive and manufacturing.

This is a proper integrated Account Director role. One minute you might be talking digital strategy, the next a brand campaign, video project, event or creative brief. But digital will be an important part of your skillset. You'll know your Meta from your Google Ads and understand how SEO, paid media, web, content, social and CRM fit into the wider marketing mix.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Do you need to personally build PPC campaigns or carry out technical SEO audits? Absolutely not! What CWA needs is someone who understands digital well enough to ask the right questions, challenge thinking, spot opportunities and bring the right specialists together to deliver great work.

What will you be doing?

You'll be responsible for building strong client relationships and becoming a trusted marketing partner to the brands you work with.

You'll be:

  • Leading integrated client accounts and campaigns.
  • Providing strategic and consultative marketing advice.
  • Bringing together digital, creative, content, PR, social and video specialists.
  • Spotting opportunities to grow and develop existing accounts.
  • Managing projects, budgets, timelines and delivery.
  • Getting involved in pitches and new business.
  • Working with specialist digital partners across SEO and paid media.

This isn't a role for someone who wants to sit on the sidelines. CWA wants an Account Director who enjoys getting involved, sharing ideas and making things happen.

What are we looking for?

Agency experience would be a big win, alongside a genuinely integrated approach to marketing. You'll need strong digital knowledge, but you don't have to be a digital specialist. What matters is that you understand the channels, how they work together and can confidently advise clients.

You'll also be:

  • A brilliant communicator who enjoys building client relationships.
  • Commercially minded and confident spotting opportunities.
  • Strategic and consultative, but happy to roll your sleeves up.
  • Curious and comfortable challenging thinking constructively.
  • Confident working across digital and offline marketing.
  • Collaborative, with a genuine team-first mentality.

CWA is all about collaboration, not ego, so they're looking for someone confident enough to bring ideas to the table, experienced enough to challenge and collaborative enough to bring people with them.

If you're an Account Director who loves agency life, understands digital and gets a buzz from bringing people and ideas together to create great work, we'd love to hear from you.
