Account Director
Equans is looking for an Account Director to join our team in Edinburgh on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus, and benefits package.
Responsibilities
The Account Director will be responsible for ensuring the strategic delivery of contracted services, including the preparations for Hand-back requirements on the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh (RIE) PFI contract. They will have budgetary responsibility for a P&L of circa £30m per annum and be responsible for the leadership of an operational team of 250 FTE’s.
This is a senior leadership role in a live critical healthcare PFI environment. The role is pivotal to maintaining customer confidence, protecting Equans contractual position, while ensuring operational resilience and compliance at all times.
The Account Director will identify and manage risks associated with the Core Contract and Hand-back delivery requirements, working with direct contract resources, internal stakeholders, and supply partners to mitigate risk and create opportunities for performance improvement.
What will you deliver?
- Accountability for the operational & commercial performance of the Hard and Soft FM services delivered by Equans to the RIE through a PFI agreement.
- Management of P&L with revenue of circa £30m pa ensuring the commercial performance is in line with set budgets.
- Proactive Management of cash including internal mechanisms for aged WIP, Debt & GRNR / POEM.
- Leadership of contract team through implementation of the target operating model, including the provision of resources, clearly defined objectives, roles profiles, development of contract processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain a behavioral Health and Safety culture across all Equans employees and Supply Partners.
- To apply all appropriate technical assurance, health and safety procedures in all aspects of contract delivery. Leadership of the contractual team regarding their responsibilities in this area.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement on site across all operational, technical & QHSE colleagues to drive excellence in internal / external audit performance and proactive completion of any associated NCR’s.
- Ensuring Operational Delivery is in line with the Contractual KPI’s and performance deductions are minimized across the core services, Catering, Security M&E, fabric, compliance, lifecycle projects, Minor works, and Sustainability.
- Ensure that statutory compliance is proactively managed and continually maintained across the RIE Contract.
- Oversight of Contract Hand-back activities working in conjunction with the central commercial PFI Hand-back & Lifecycle team.

Who we are looking for
- Proven experience of Hard & Soft FM Leadership role at Account or Regional Director level.
- Professional qualification desirable.
- Previous experience of PFI & Healthcare sector contracts.
- Strong Commercial Awareness with experience of performance-related contracts and management systems.
- An understanding of Health and Safety Legislation (SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH).
- Confident communicator with excellent customer interaction skills.
- Current valid PVG.
