Account Director

Clients: Etsy & Activision

As an Account Director at Hearts United, you will be at the forefront of client interaction, responsible for understanding client needs, developing tailored media strategies, leveraging Hearts United's tools and planning process (IGNITE), and ensuring flawless campaign execution. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve client objectives, manage budgets effectively, and maintain high levels of client satisfaction while delivering impactful media solutions.

Responsibilities

At Hearts United, your roles and responsibilities will be centred around the following core competencies. These include, but are not limited to:

Client Service

  • Act as the lead day-to-day contact for your clients, building and nurturing relationships through the delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Lead all regular client status meetings, ensuring actions are documented by the team and followed up in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with media partners, positioning Hearts United as a valued and trusted agency partner.

Commercial

  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the commercial agreement between the agency and client, ensuring all plans are correctly costed and charged prior to sign-off.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Hearts United's products and solutions, identifying opportunities to introduce new offerings and increase revenue where appropriate.
  • Support the Business Director, where relevant, in reviewing commercial arrangements across your client portfolio, understanding both the detail and the impact on successful delivery.

Career Development & Team Management

  • Train, mentor and support the Account Manager(s) within your team, including supporting career development conversations for Executives and Media Business Partners (MBPs).
  • Contribute to agency culture and represent your client team by sharing examples of great work, celebrating successes and championing team achievements across the wider agency.
  • Support the GAD and/or Business Director in setting the tone for the team by living and championing Hearts United’s values every day and embedding them into the way the team works together.

Desired Skills & Experience

We're looking for someone who ticks most, if not all, of the following boxes:

  • Proven media planning experience across all major channels, including TV, Press, Digital and OOH.
  • Experience planning campaigns across the UK and European markets is desirable.
  • Demonstrates a strong Challenger Mindset in both client work and team leadership.
  • Excellent client servicing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Agile in approach, with the ability to move quickly and embrace new opportunities.
  • Experience managing and developing teams, including workload management, coaching and career progression.
  • Previous experience working with gaming and/or ecommerce clients is preferred.
