Account Director
Salary: £45,000-55,000
Location: Leeds – 2 days a week
Great with clients? Commercially sharp? Know your way around performance marketing and how the different channels work together?
We’re working with a performance marketing agency looking for an experienced Account Director to take ownership of a portfolio of complex, multi-channel clients.
This is a proper senior client leadership role. You’ll be the person clients trust to challenge their thinking, solve problems and spot opportunities, while making sure the accounts are commercially healthy and the team underneath you is delivering brilliant work.
What you’ll do
- Own senior client relationships, from day-to-day stakeholders through to C-suite
- Become a genuine strategic partner to your clients, understanding their wider business challenges rather than simply responding to briefs
- Lead conversations around performance marketing, channel planning and how digital can drive short and long-term growth
- Challenge and interrogate briefs, shaping the strategic direction before they reach the wider team
- Lead multi-channel presentations, strategic responses and pitches alongside the agency’s Strategy team
- Take commercial ownership of your accounts, including forecasting, profitability, renewals and statements of work
- Identify opportunities to grow existing clients through new work, additional services and wider agency capabilities
- Lead and develop the client services team around you, giving people ownership while maintaining overall control of the account
- Step into the difficult conversations when needed, whether that’s around performance, scope, commercials or client relationships
- Play an active role in new business pitches and building relationships with prospective clients

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
