Overview
We’re looking for a brilliant Account Director to join our team for a maternity cover contract. This role reports into the Client Services Director and is supported by an Account Manager and the wider agency team. You’ll be a key member of our account management team, providing essential client support, advice, and campaign delivery across a range of clients. The role could also possibly extend to a longer contract or a full-time role, dependent on our business requirements at the time.
About us
At Activation, we create ideas, not just noise. We work with some of the UK's most exciting grocery brands, including Warburton’s, Tilda Rice, Ocean Spray, Wall’s, St Austell Brewery, Gressingham Duck, Regina, Wilkinson Sword, and more. We help these brands grow by creating end-to-end digital, shopper, and promotional campaigns to drive their consumers closer to purchase. We're a small, but growing, business with a passion for delivering great results for our clients.
Key aspects of the role
- Great communication skills: Being the account lead on key client accounts, the Account Director will build trusting relationships with their clients. You are the first point of contact, representing the agency in day-to-day communications.
- Project management: Having a firm hold on all aspects of project management as a delivery lead. You’re responsible for the delivery of shopper and digital campaigns, brand websites, and sales promotion activity. You will lead end-to-end management of the campaigns with the support of the Account Manager and wider team. You’ll be great at stakeholder management.
- Strong commercial acumen: You’ll be accountable for the financial health of your clients, ensuring projects are delivered profitably. You'll also play your part in helping the business achieve its financial targets.
- New business support: There will be opportunities to help deliver new business proposals working with the wider team.
- Creativity: It’s what we do, so you will bring experience and passion in this space to the agency. From writing great briefs and having an eye on the detail during creative development, through to presenting our work to clients.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
