Account Director - Healthcare Public Affairs

An established communications consultancy is looking for an Account Director to join its specialist healthcare public affairs team.

Working across pharmaceuticals, medtech, diagnostics and digital health, you’ll help clients navigate healthcare policy and NHS decision-making, build influential partnerships and improve access to innovative medicines, technologies and services.

You’ll join a collaborative team with a varied portfolio spanning corporate public affairs, coalitions, parliamentary groups and patient advocacy campaigns. This is an opportunity to take ownership of senior client relationships and contribute to the team’s next stage of growth.

The Role

  • Lead client programmes, providing strategic advice on healthcare policy, political developments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Translate complex issues into clear recommendations, persuasive messaging and effective campaigns.
  • Oversee account delivery, reviewing work and managing priorities, resources and client scope.
  • Build relationships across government, Parliament, the NHS, industry and patient organisations.
  • Support new business proposals, pitches and the development of existing accounts.
  • Mentor colleagues and work closely with specialists across public affairs, PR and digital.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
