Digital Performance Account Director
Independent full service media agency
3 days a week in London office
Up to £65,000 basic (depending on experience) + benefits
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Digital Performance Media Account Director looking to take ownership of high-profile client relationships while leading and developing a talented team, at this award-winning, international digital marketing agency.
The Opportunity
As Performance Media Account Director, you’ll act as the strategic lead across a portfolio of client accounts, with particular responsibility for PPC and Paid Social.
- You’ll work closely with senior client stakeholders to understand their wider business objectives, develop long-term performance strategies and identify opportunities for growth.
- You’ll mentor Account Managers and Account Executives within the team.
This is a broad, senior-level role combining client leadership, channel expertise, team management and new business development, so it would suit someone who enjoys taking ownership and wants to have a real influence on both client performance and the wider agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Take strategic ownership of a portfolio of client accounts, ensuring activity is aligned with wider commercial and marketing objectives.
- Develop innovative PPC and Paid Social strategies that drive measurable performance and long-term client growth.
- Build strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a trusted strategic partner.
- Lead regular client meetings, performance reviews and presentations, translating data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to grow client accounts through additional investment, channels and services.
- Work collaboratively with Programmatic, ATL, SEO and other specialist teams to deliver integrated media strategies.
- Stay ahead of platform developments, industry trends and changes within the digital advertising landscape.
- Lead, mentor and develop Account Managers and Account Executives, supporting their performance, progression and wellbeing.
- Identify skills gaps across the team and work with senior leadership to put appropriate training and development in place.
- Maintain strong relationships with media and technology partners.
- Play a key role in new business pitches, helping shape strategy, forecasts and compelling client propositions.
- Contribute to wider agency initiatives, webinars, events and projects that support the continued growth of the business.

The successful candidate will have:
- At least 5 years’ experience within digital performance marketing, ideally gained within an agency environment.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience at managerial or senior account level.
- Strong hands-on experience in-platform across PPC and Paid Social, including Google Ads and Meta.
- A proven track record of managing significant client relationships and delivering measurable campaign results.
- Excellent strategic thinking with the ability to connect channel performance to wider client business objectives.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing, mentoring and developing junior and mid-level team members.
- Confidence presenting to senior stakeholders and leading strategic client conversations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to turn performance data into clear recommendations.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify client growth and new business opportunities.
- A good understanding of the evolving digital advertising landscape, including the impact of privacy changes and cookie-less environments.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to remain organised in a busy, fast-moving agency environment.
