The Opportunity

I’m working with an established, award-winning B2B communications agency that is experiencing strong growth and is looking to hire an Account Director / Senior Account Director.

The agency works with ambitious organisations across technology, digital advertising, publishing, media, AI, and other evolving sectors, delivering integrated PR and communications programmes designed to support clients' wider commercial objectives.

This is a senior, client-facing, and commercially focused role, but importantly, it is not a purely strategic or management position.

The agency is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being hands-on – developing media angles, getting involved in pitches, writing, advising clients, and rolling up their sleeves when needed.

You'll take senior ownership of a portfolio of accounts, working closely with clients and supporting teams to deliver excellent work, while also contributing to account growth and the wider commercial development of the agency.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as the senior strategic lead across a portfolio of B2B and technology-focused client accounts
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and become a valued strategic adviser
  • Develop communications strategies that align with clients' business and commercial objectives
  • Provide proactive counsel, identifying opportunities, risks, and new ways to add value
  • Lead client satisfaction, retention, renewals, and account growth
  • Oversee delivery across integrated PR and communications programmes
  • Remain hands-on with client work, including media strategy, storytelling, pitching, and written content
  • Develop and maintain strong journalist and media relationships
  • Identify high-value and stretch media opportunities
  • Support complex, high-profile, or strategically important media opportunities
  • Oversee account budgets, profitability, forecasting, utilisation, and resourcing
  • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and wider account growth opportunities
  • Contribute proactively to new business, proposals, and pitches
  • Build relationships with prospective clients, partners, and industry contacts
  • Contribute to growth across adjacent sectors and areas of specialism
  • Line manage and mentor a small number of team members – typically one or two
  • Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and strategic guidance
  • Support the development of strong standards across the wider team
  • Embrace AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, insight, and client delivery

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A genuinely hands-on Director role

The agency isn't looking for someone who wants to sit purely at a strategic level and delegate everything down. Directors are expected to stay close to the work, contribute directly to client delivery, and get involved when needed.

The team has a flat structure, so you'll have genuine visibility across your accounts rather than sitting several layers removed from the day-to-day work.

There is also a dedicated element of time for personal development and wider commercial contribution. Once established in the role, this could involve supporting new business, developing an adjacent sector, or contributing to another area of growth that aligns with your strengths and interests.

Why join?

The agency offers the chance to work with interesting, high-profile organisations across fast-moving sectors, within a collaborative and supportive team.

It's an environment where strong performers can progress quickly, with a clear emphasis on development, autonomy, and commercial contribution.
