Account Director
Location: Hybrid / Head Office, Altrincham, South Manchester
Contract: 12 month FTC
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Account Director to be responsible for the retention, growth and development of key client accounts, ensuring strategic recruiter status is achieved in line with business objectives.
The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering high levels of client satisfaction while ensuring contractual KPIs and SLAs are consistently met.
We are looking for a commercially focused relationship manager who can provide strategic advice, identify growth opportunities, lead client service reviews, and support continuous improvement across client accounts.
This role requires strong stakeholder management, analytical capability, and the ability to lead Account Managers in delivering recruitment best practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive client retention through the strategic alignment and continuous improvement of services delivered to key accounts.
- Identify, upsell and implement value-added services to support account growth and increase client value.
- Monitor, analyse and improve account performance to ensure contractual KPIs, SLAs and obligations are achieved.
- Develop and maintain Account Development Plans and Continual Improvement Plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, providing strategic recruitment advice and market insight.
- Lead formal account review meetings, presenting performance data, service improvements and additional service opportunities.
- Act as an escalation point for complex client issues, taking ownership and driving successful resolutions.
- Lead and support Account Managers in delivering recruitment best practice, service excellence and effective account management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Experience identifying and acting upon upselling opportunities.
- Strong people management and motivational skills.
- Experience leading service review presentations.
- Ability to analyse and present performance data.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven sales, persuasion and negotiation capability.
- Experience of recruitment best practice within permanent and contract recruitment markets.
- Proven track record of resolving complex issues and problems.
- Ability to think strategically and provide long-term advice to senior client stakeholders.
