Role Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Account Director to lead operational and commercial performance of a key client contract within the SMART portfolio.

You’ll oversee the maintenance of M&E systems, lead on-site teams, and drive service excellence — while managing a contract P&L, ensuring costs are controlled, performance targets are met, and opportunities for sustainable growth are identified.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of planned preventative maintenance and reactive works, ensuring 100% statutory and contractual compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams through regular briefings, toolbox talks and structured performance appraisals.
  • Produce accurate monthly client reports and maintain clear and professional client communication.
  • Manage QHSE audits and documentation and performance standards.
  • Oversee additional works, quotations, and supplier performance in line with contractual and commercial requirements.
  • Manage budgets, monitor spend and protect P&L performance across a circa £3m contract portfolio.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and commercial performance.

  • 2–5 years’ experience in FM or operational contract management
  • Experience leading and developing managers or teams
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems and operational processes
  • Confident managing budgets, financial performance, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on client relationships
  • Desirable: 18th Edition, C&G 2391, or Mechanical/HVAC qualifications
